The vast national park locating on the Tibetan plateau is expected to open to visitors at the end of this year.
Construction started in 2016, the national park of Sanjiangyuan lying in the Tibetan plateau in China scheduled to open to visitors at the end of 2020.
The Sanjiangyuan national park is located on the Tibetan plateau (Qinghai's Tibet), with a total of around 123.000 km2 area. This is one of the 10 experienced national parks of China aiming to improve the ecosystem.
With a such large area, the park has more than 70.000 custodians. They are originally local people. The objective of building the park is a measure to preserve the ecosystem, ensure people's life, at the same time improve the biological multi-characteristics on the plateau.
Also, technology has been applied to trace wild animals and prevent poaching.
The Tibetan plateau is a vast and highest region in central Asia also in the world, with an average high of 4.500m above sea level. It includes mostly the Tibet autonomous region and Qinghai province of China and the Ladakh in Kashmir of India as well.
Dubbed "the roof of the world", the Tibetan plateau has an around 2,5 million km2 area, comprising the global's highest ranges such as the Himalaya with the Everest peak. This plateau was formed from the impact of the tectonic plates about 55 million years ago.
