Stunning giant Buddha statue as tall as a 20-storey building in Thailand
A giant Buddha statue lying beside a canal in Thon Buri district, Bangkok, Thailand, was completed slower than the original progress due to the effects of the Covid-19 pandemic.

A giant Buddha statue with a height equivalent to a 20-story building, built next to a canal in Thon Buri district, Bangkok, Thailand, is still in the process of completion.
It is known that this giant religious statue is Dhammakaya Thep Mongkol Buddha, with a height of about 69 m, and a width of about 140 m. The base of the statue is made of bronze.

Construction began in 2017, and is expected to be completed this year. But construction was forced to postpone when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out. Construction contractors hope to complete progress by the end of this year.

The Buddha statue belongs to the grounds of Paknam Bhasicharoen Temple, next to the Bangkok Yai canal.
This is one of the major temples in Bangkok, and is also home to monks in the city and around the world. It is known that this area is also being developed by the Bangkok city government as a new tourist destination in the capital.
